19.6 percent of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy students played sports on university teams in 2017-2018


In 2017-2018, 19.6 percent of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

The Massachusetts Maritime Academy has 1,709 undergraduate students, of which 86 percent are men and 14 percent are women, and a total student body of 1,802 students. Of these students, 262 men and 91 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 8.7 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy with the most participants are football (86), lacrosse (55) and soccer (44).
