2.8 percent of Northeastern University students played sports on university teams in 2017-2018


In 2017-2018, 2.8 percent of Northeastern University students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

Northeastern University has 13,909 undergraduate students, of which 52 percent are women and 48 percent are men, and a total student body of 21,627 students. Of these students, 307 men and 303 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 8.7 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at Northeastern University with the most participants are all track combined (283), rowing (83) and ice hockey (54).
