Graduates earn 1,130 degrees, certificates from Western New England University


About 31.5 percent of the 1,130 degrees and certificates handed out by Western New England University in 2017-18 were to students in business, management, marketing, and related support services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Springfield conferred 144 bachelor's degrees and 141 certificates in business, management, marketing, and related support services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in general management information systems. Data shows the school gave out 126 certificates in general management information systems, followed by 79 doctor's degrees in law and 73 doctor's degrees in pharmacy.

The university enrolled 3,776 students for 2017-18, including 2,736 in undergraduate programs and 1,040 in graduate programs.
