Graduates earn 100 degrees, certificates from Longy School of Music of Bard College


About 89 percent of the 100 degrees and certificates handed out by Longy School of Music of Bard College in 2017-18 were to students in visual and performing arts programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Cambridge conferred 64 master's degrees and 25 certificates in visual and performing arts programs.

But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in voice and opera. Data shows the school gave out 20 master's degrees in voice and opera, followed by 17 master's degrees in keyboard instruments and 11 master's degrees in music teacher education.

The college enrolled 217 students for 2017-18, including 46 in undergraduate programs and 171 in graduate programs.
