2.3 percent of University of Massachusetts-Boston students played sports on university teams in 2016-2017


In 2016-2017, 2.3 percentage of University of Massachusetts-Boston students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

University of Massachusetts-Boston has 12,660 undergraduate students, of which 53 percent are women and 47 percent are men, and a total student body of 16,415 students. Of these students, 227 men and 152 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 4.3 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at University of Massachusetts-Boston with the most participants are ice hockey (58), soccer (57) and track and field, indoor (47).
